Sam Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Ben Franklin
Adams, Franklin, and Jefferson: Let’s take a look at who these men were.
As discussed at the beginning of the course, there were many other brave and important people who risked their lives to build this document and shape this country. In this section, we will focus on several Founding Fathers who, although they shared many core values, did not always see eye to eye on many things. Note: Point out that differences and different viewpoints are okay and are part of what helped shape this country. Conflict is not always a bad thing as productive conflict can lead to growth!
Adams and Jefferson’s historic relationship, which began in 1775, ended on July 4, 1826. Interestingly, the two ex-presidents died within hours of each other, on the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
