Welcome Little Patriots to the American Revolution!
Before we begin diving into why Faith, Liberty, Community, and Life mattered to the brave American men and women who fought for our freedom. We are going to learn about a little-known group called the Hessians! Many people do not know about the Hessians, but they played a huge role in the winning of our independence! Please take a moment to watch our latest Star Spangled Adventures episode, and look through the facts below to learn more about the Hessians. Time to start learning!



Many of the Hessians were from a part of modern-day Germany called Hesse. However, Prince Landgrave couldn’t supply the British with enough professional soldiers to keep the British happy. Instead of hiring more soldiers from other German states, the Prince sent over criminals and other German people to fight instead! The Hessians were also a part of the majority of the major battles fought in the American Revolution! The majority landed in New York in the summer of 1776 and fought against George Washington on the shores of the Delaware.
