Learning More About President Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln spent most of his life in the northern U.S. He knew slavery was wrong and went against the beliefs our Founding Fathers built America on. He thought it would go away on its own, but it did not. He decided to run for president and help end slavery once and for all. He wanted to help the south see that slavery was wrong and that we could be a great country without slaves. How could this great challenge be accomplished? Unfortunately, it was not easy.
